What is the admission process?
Student applications will be accepted until Aug. 1, 2008, or until the enrollment cap is reached.
Per Idaho Code, a student enrolling in kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1st of the
year they are enrolling; a student enrolling in 1st grade, must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the year they
are enrolling.
There are two steps for the enrollment process:
Step One: APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
The online application for admission for the 2008-09 school year will open on March 3, 2008. If you would like to submit an application for admission, please complete the online Application for Admissions Form. Once an application is submitted, the business office will mail you a student application packet.
Step Two: When you receive the student application packet, complete all forms in the application packet and mail
them to the I-DEA business office. Detailed instructions will be included in the packet outlining all of the required
documents that need to be returned in order for your application for admission to be processed.
The required documents include:
- Copy of student's certified birth certificate
- Copy of Immunization Records
- Student records request (even if this does not apply to your child)
- Signed Student/Parent Compact
- Special Needs Form (even if this does not apply to your child)
- Proof of Idaho Residency (for example: copy of current utility bill, real estate tax statement, etc. printed with your name and physical address)
- Equipment Request
- Home Language Survey
By completing all required forms in the student application packet, parents and students acknowledge that they understand our charter school outcomes, philosophies, and requirements. When the completed student application packet has been received, you will be notified by the business office via email (or mail, if you have no current email).
Once officially enrolled in I-DEA, you will be mailed a letter containing your I-DEA email account and login information. You will also receive a CD containing an orientation to our school and both the Parent Handbook and HS Handbook. A certified teacher will be assigned to you, who will work in partnership with you throughout the year. Your teacher will contact you via phone or your I-DEA email account shortly after your official enrollment.
