I-DEA Wins GO-ON Challenge
Idaho Distance Education Academy won “Most Improvement Overall” and a prize of $100,000 in the “Go-On” challenge put on by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation.
I-DEA competed with schools around the state to increase the number of students taking dual credit college courses, ACT/SAT college prep exams, and taking upper level Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math courses.
Some interesting data associated with this challenge:
- Over 70% of the 2012 I-DEA graduates have already completed college level courses through Dual Credit
- Participation in Dual Credit Courses grew by 186% from 2009-2010 to 2010-2011
- Completion of the PSAT went from 3 in 2010 to 15 in 2011 and will grow to at least 27 by the end of May 2012
